Safety & reporting

Your space, your rules: a safety dial you control, a trust list you curate, and a report button that captures real evidence.

PetalMC is open to everyone, so safety is built as layers you control rather than a wall around the server. Every message is checked by the server before strangers see it; on top of that, you choose how reachable you are.

/safety /trust <player> /report <player> <reason>

The safety dial

Type /safety in game and pick a level. Click one below - and hover any row - to see exactly what changes.

Medium. Everyone can reach you, and global chat is checked before it lands - the worst messages never reach you at all. Checked chat, open doors. Most players stay here.

  • Global chat open
  • Private messages open
  • Summon requests open
  • Receiving gold open
  • Party invites open
  • Pocket visitors open

Hover an interaction to see how the level treats it.

Every message takes the same journey

You send it

The server checks it

Your message and recent history are checked for inappropriate content.

Delivered

Your message was deemed safe and reached players.

Standing: earned, and recoverable

Hover a rung. Standing is assigned by how you treat people - never bought, never voted on.

Everyone starts at Normal.

Reporting: /report <player> <reason>

Reports exist to protect the community and minimise harm. One command, and staff get a real case to review - not a shout into the void.

A reason is required

One honest sentence about what happened. Reports without a real reason are not accepted.

The evidence takes care of itself

You donโ€™t need screenshots or proof - the server builds the case. What goes into it stays between the server and staff.

Timing doesnโ€™t matter

The serverโ€™s memory is long. Report when youโ€™re ready - there is no waiting anything out.

The reported player is never told. Not that a report exists, not who filed it - reports never surface to the person reported.

Both sides are in the file. A report is a request for review, not a weapon - staff check the record, not the loudest voice.

False reports have consequences. Reports are a tool for protecting people. Filing false or bad-faith reports is itself a violation and can lead to disciplinary action.

Gameplay on PetalMC is recorded and may be reviewed - that is what makes reports fair to everyone.
