Your pictures, as maps

You can turn any picture you own into an in-game map and hang it on your wall. Upload it from the web portal, and Astra - the village painter in Blossom Village - paints it as a filled map you can frame like any other. She charges 500 gold when you collect it, not when you send it, so changing your mind costs nothing.

Step by step

1. Get into the portal with /web

Type /web in game and click the link it gives you. The link works once and expires after ten minutes - if it lapses, just run /web again. It signs you into the player portal as you, with no password to invent or remember.

2. Choose and upload a picture

Pick an image on the portalโ€™s commission page. Maps are small: your picture is downsampled to a 64ร—64 grid in the mapโ€™s fixed palette, with each of those pixels drawn as a chunky 2ร—2 block on the final map. The preview you see is exactly what will be painted, so it pays to choose something bold and simple. Faces, landscapes and pixel art survive the shrink well; fine text and busy detail do not.

3. Frame and grade it

Drag the preview to move the picture inside the square, and use the sliders for zoom, brightness, contrast and colour. Dither is on by default: it mixes neighbouring palette colours to fake shades the palette doesnโ€™t have, which helps skies and skin tones but blurs flat logos and text. Turn it off for those.

Happy? Send it. You can have one commission open at a time; cancel it on the portal (or at Astra) to send a different picture.

4. Collect it from Astra

Find Astra in Blossom Village and ask if your commission is ready - she hands it over for 500 gold. She checks your balance and that you have a free inventory slot before any gold moves, so a failed collection never costs you anything. If youโ€™ve changed your mind, tell her to set it aside instead - no charge.

5. Hang it up

The picture arrives as a filled map named Picture #id. Mount it the vanilla way: place an item frame on a wall and right-click it with the map in hand. It renders edge to edge, so a grid of frames with one picture each makes a gallery wall. Frames in spawn are protected like everything else there - decorate your own base, your clan hall or your pocket instead.

The fine print

  • 500 gold, on collection. Uploading, cancelling and re-sending are all free. See vendors if your purse needs filling first.
  • One at a time. Cancel at Astra or on the portal to swap pictures.
  • Keep it decent. The server rules apply to pictures the same as to builds and chat. Every commissioned map carries its id in its name, so anyone can report a picture they can see - even one hung in somebody elseโ€™s frame - with /mapreport <id>, or by holding the map and running /mapreport on its own. Reported pictures that break the rules are withdrawn, and every copy goes blank, frames included.
