Skills

Skills are little bursts of luck that make everyday work feel great. Thereโ€™s one so far - more may come.

Woodcutting ๐Ÿช“

Chop a log of a real tree with an axe and thereโ€™s a 20% chance the whole trunk above comes down with it - one satisfying crunch, all the logs drop at your feet.

  • Bigger trees need bigger levels. The skill can fell up to 5 logs at level 1, scaling up to 20 logs at level 50. If the tree above is too big for your level, nothing happens - level up and come back for the giants.
  • Critical hits! 1 in 10 triggers is a critical - a distinct sound, and every felled log drops double.
  • Only real trees count. The skill reads the leaves: naturally grown trees (including ones you grew from saplings) trigger it, but log builds, cabins and pillars never will. Your house is safe.
  • Felled logs count toward your block stats and XP just as if youโ€™d chopped them by hand - the skill makes you faster, not smaller numbers.

Listen for the chop-chime when it procs - and the heavier crunch when you crit.

Survival ๐Ÿ–

Two quiet passives that make life in the wild a little kinder - both grow with your level:

  • Extra nourishing: eating any food has a chance to restore double the hunger (and saturation). 10% at level 1, scaling to 40% at level 50. Youโ€™ll hear a satisfied little sound when it happens.
  • Cheat death: when a hit would kill you, thereโ€™s a small chance you simplyโ€ฆ donโ€™t die. The blow is resisted entirely. 1% at level 1, scaling to 4% at level 50 - rare enough to feel like a miracle, and it sounds like one too. โœจ

Prospecting โ›๏ธ

Every ore you mine has a chance to pay out twice - the full drops, doubled, with a bright little chime. 1% at level 1, scaling to 7% at level 50.

Miners with an eye for more: the drop tables hold Prospectorโ€™s gear and the Prospectorโ€™s Pick, whose bonuses stack on top of the skill. A max-level miner in the full set with the pick doubles more than four in every ten ores they touch.
